About Lalbagcha Raja

Location: GD Ambedkar Road, Lalbaug (central Mumbai).
Nearest Railway Station: Walking distance from Lower Parel, Curry Road, and Chinchpolki stations.
Waiting Time: Can be 20 hours or more in the navas line. General line takes around five hours.
When to Visit: It’s open around the clock. However, the busiest time is in the evening until midnight.

Located at Lalbaug market, Lalbaugcha Raja is one of the oldest sarvajanik (public) Ganesh festivals of Mumbai established in 1934.Lalbaugcha Raja, or Lalbaghcha Raja, in Mumbai is one of the most popular Ganesh Pandals in Mumbai during Ganeshotsav. Lalbaugcha Raja 2013 will be unveiled on September 9. Located at Lalbaug in Mumbai, the Ganesh idol erected here during Ganesh Chaturthi festival is popularly known as Lalbaugcha Raja. It is visited by millions of people during the 12-day Ganesh Chaturthi festival.
The much revered ‘Lalbaughcha Raja’, literally translated to be the King of Laulbaugh, will be displayed to the media in an event which is called ‘Mukh Darshan’ of Lalbaugcha Raja.

The Lagbagcha Raja,King of Lalbag undoubetdly the most faimous ganesh idol in mumbai.Charan Pooja Ceremoney is a ceremony where in the feet of Lalbaugcha Raja is made and a pooja is performed on it as shown in photos below. After this puja, this leg is attaches to the idol made by the work men.
At least 2 or 3 days prior to Ganesh Chaturthi, Lalbaug Cha Raja 2013 Ganesh Idol will be unveiled in an event which is called ‘Mukh Darshan’ of Lalbaugcha Raja.
